What To Expect

Asking for help takes a lot of courage and you have done it!  Even if you or your teen daughter are not new to therapy, it's natural to wonder what will happen during your first session and beyond.  So, let's talk about it!

Your first session

We will take a deeper dive into what brought you into therapy.  We will also discuss what you wish to accomplish in journey towards healing, personal growth and self-empowerment, and talk through different therapy approaches appropriate for your unique needs.

Beyond your first session

I believe my clients are their own experts. For this reason, we'll work as a team to make your therapy tailored to your individual needs and goals.  Throughout the course of therapy, I will evaluate your progress and re-assess your therapy needs.  As progress occurs, the frequency of therapy decreases.  

Mother-daughter therapy is unlike any other form of therapy, so it's natural to wonder what will happen during your first session and beyond.  

The first session:  This session is mostly about getting to know your mother-daughter dynamics on a deeper level, whether you're coming in as a mother-daughter pair or on your own. I might also ask more questions from the information you will provide in your intake packet.  This allows me to get a better idea of how to help you most effectively.  This is also your time to ask any questions of me, too.  

Beyond the first session:  There is no timeline as to when you will be done with mother-daughter coaching as mother-daughter dynamics are as unique as snowflakes. We will collaboratively make sure you are getting the coaching that best fits your unique needs. Sessions 2-4 will entail discussing your mother-daughter history at length to identify the dysfunctional generational patterns and the core cause of your conflict.  Beyond these sessions, mother-daughter work will include: 

1. working on communication techniques; 
2. learning new ways of hearing and seeing your mother/daughter; and
3. establishing a new normal that will foster healing, growth and enduring generational change. 

Individual Therapy For Women and Teen Girls (ages 13 & older) | $175/hr

Parental Guidance Sessions | $175/hr | minimum of 4 sessions

Supplemental Family Therapy (as needed) | $250/hr

Joint Mother-Daughter Coaching Sessions |  $350/90-mins | minimum of 8 sessions

Individual Mother-Daughter Coaching Sessions |  $175/hr
